How does your service work?
Our human resource services are geared to match your employment experience with current openings throughout the Yakima Valley. We market you to potential employers and arrange interviews with our client companies to give you opportunities for employment within their firms. Many of these companies rely solely on us to fill their staffing needs which means you won't see these positions advertised anywhere else. How much will it cost to use your service?
There is never a fee for job seekers. Fees are paid by the company in which you become employed. How do I apply?
You can come into our office Monday through Friday from 8-5 to fill out an application. That application process will take about an hour. If it is after 12:00 pm you may be asked to come back for the interview procedure depending on staff availability. You will need to bring your Social Security card, and a valid form of identification. Will I be working for ACTNOW or the company I become employed with?
That depends on the choice of the company. Many companies prefer to keep you listed as an ACTNOW employee for a period of time (this varies but usually 90 days). That means you will be paid through our office each Friday for the previous week's working hours. Other companies will bring you on to their payroll and you become their employee immediately. What is Direct Hire?
Direct hire means the company you become employed with will take you directly onto their payroll. You will not be paid through the ACTNOW office. How does Temporary Employment work?
ACTNOW has continual need of Temporary Employees. This means you will be sent to fill positions within our client companies for short term assignments. They may only last for just a few days or long term positions that may last up to 6 months or more. When do I get paid?
You will get paid each Friday for the previous weeks hours. Your check will be available for pick up at our office after 8 AM. You can request that your check is mailed to you but you will need to sign a form at our office if you choose to do so.How do I know what jobs are available?
When your qualifications match a job order we are trying to fill, we will contact you to tell you about the position. You can also check the classified section in the Yakima Herald Republic for our listings. Each Friday our web site listing of available jobs will also change to show the top jobs we are hiring for.
How will you keep track of my hours?
You will be responsible to keep track of your working hours with a time sheet that you will get from ACTNOW. You will need to have a supervisor from the company you are working at sign your timecard each week. What if I only want to do temporary work?
The great thing about temporary work is you can let us know when you are available for work. You can choose which assignments you want to take and have the benefit of taking extra time off when needed. It's a great way to earn extra money with no long term employment commitments. What kind of computer training do you provide?
The ACTNOW Development Center offers training in the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Macromedia Suite, and QuickBooks. This training can be provided in either an instructor led format or you can work at your own pace with instructor assistance. You can also achieve Microsoft User Specialist Certifications in the Office Suite programs by taking the approved certification exams in our Certiport Testing Center.
